MED final capitalisation event
On 24th and 25th March 2015 the event 'THE MED CAPITALISATION: CONTRIBUTING TO A STRONGER EUROPE' took place at the Committee of the Regions in a joint initiative by the thirteen MED capitalisation projects. These projects were carried out in the final phase of the MED Programme and constitute in itself a pioneer initiative in the framework of the European Territorial Cooperation.
In a short set of themes, they brought together outputs and results developed by previous projects with the purpose of delivering recommendations and new tools that synthetize and improve the productions of the 2007-2013 period. The capitalisation results are now available to nourish the policy-making processes at regional, national and European levels, as well as the new programme calls.
In this sense, the seminar tackled two different aspects of the capitalisation practices: The first day ('From MED capitalisation to European policies') put focus on the capitalisation process itself and offers the occasion to exchange experiences with other European Territorial Cooperation programmes and structures that followed very different approaches and strategies.
The second day ('Project results for improved policies') provided insights on the results of the MED capitalization projects: the recommendations, tools and good practices that emerged from these projects were illustrated. Subsequently an exchange with relevant EU institutions and networks clarified how these could be further included into European policies and vice-versa.
