Municipality of Prato Open Forum

05/04/2014

The Municipality of Prato organized the Local Open Forum on the 5th April and in the Textile Museum of Prato, via Puccetti, 3, in coordination with a major local event “Innovation day” dedicated to the capitalisation of results and Good Practices developed by Cooperation Projects. Invitations were sent by e-mail through the Innovation Day mailing list to several addresses, especially involving companies and creative individuals. Participants in the Open Forum were introduced to the Shapes Toolbox and asked for feedback, in order to assess and improve the platform according to their suggestions.

The forum started with a short presentation of the Shapes Project to contextualize the meeting and its goals. The open forum was conducted by the facilitator Mr Besnik Mehmeti who introduced the participants to the SHAPES project approach and methodology, to the capitalisation process and to the results of the prior projects that SHAPES wants to capitalise. Then he showed the structure and functionalities of the Toolbox in order to receive the opinions of the participants.

There was significant interest of the participants in the toolbox concept, still the real utility of this instrument will be perceived only when it will become operative and fully functional. Special attention should be paid to explain the different tools included in the box, the service they may provide, how to use them and which target they address. The interface should be as friendly and intuitive as possible to avoid complicate use. Moreover, it is suggested that the toolbox is thoroughly tested by a sample of users before it is presented to the public.

All participants expressed their interest to be informed about the development of this key instrument of the project.
